Field Annotation
Nanonets provides multiple ways to annotate your documents, allowing you to choose the method that best suits your workflow.
Tutorial
Method 1: Select Field First, Draw Box Later (Faster)
This method enables you to quickly annotate by selecting a field first and then drawing the box. It’s ideal for fields that do not have a value assigned to them
- Select a Field: Choose a field name from the list on the right-hand side (RHS) of the screen. You can select a field which does not have a box assigned yet.
- Draw a Box:
- Click-to-Create Method: Click on a specific word to create a box, which you can resize later.
- Click and Drag Method: Click on any point in the document and drag to draw a custom-sized box.
- Auto assign: The new box will automatically be assigned to the field you selected in the RHS list. Press the Enter key to save the box.
Method 2: Draw Box First, Select Field Later (Legacy Method)
This method allows you to draw the annotation box first and then select the appropriate field label. It may be helpful if you prefer to visualize the annotation area before choosing a field.
- Draw a Box:
- Use either the Click and Drag Method or the Click-to-Create Method to draw a box around the text you want to annotate.
- Select the Field:
- After drawing the box, a pop-up will appear. Use the dropdown menu in the pop-up to search for and select the correct field label.
- Save the Annotation:
- Click the Save button to associate the drawn box with the selected field.
Adjusting Boxes
Regardless of the method you choose, you can always adjust the boxes:
- Hover over the edges or corners of the box until you see a resizing cursor.
- Click and drag to adjust the size or position of the box as needed.
Conclusion
By providing multiple ways to annotate, you have the flexibility to choose the method that fits your needs best. Whether you prefer selecting the field first for a faster workflow or drawing the box first to better visualize the annotation, our feature makes annotating documents more efficient and user-friendly.
